Healthy Dental Expressions – Invisalign : Orthodontics in Lake Worth, FL
Do you need to fix a crooked smile but don’t want to deal with a mouth full of metal brackets and wires? Invisalign can help you do just that. The clear plastic dental aligners will straighten your smile in a discreet manner, so you can finally get the smile you’ve always wanted in the most convenient way possible.
Focus of Orthodontics
Orthodontics is used to correct both the alignment of your teeth and your bite. This process is often considered a cosmetic dentistry treatment because of how beneficial straight teeth are for your appearance. However, a straight, aligned smile can decrease bacteria buildup and reduce your risk for gum disease and cavities. With Invisalign, Healthy Dental Expressions can help you get the healthy AND attractive smile you have been looking for.
What is Invisalign?
Healthy Dental Expressions offers metal-free orthodontic care. You won’t have to deal with brackets on the front of your teeth or wires that run across your teeth. The treatment we offer will have practically no negative effect on your smile whatsoever. That is because Invisalign uses clear, plastic dental aligners to correct the look of your smile over a short period of time. The aligners are removable and easy to use. By using Invisalign short-term orthodontics , your smile can look better in less than half the time of traditional braces.
The Invisalign Process
Your journey to a better smile with Invisalign involves three easy steps.
Step #1 – Your first task is to contact our office to schedule your first orthodontic appointment. You will come in and meet with Dr. Suarez. You will have a thorough exam to figure out exactly what is going on with your smile and to determine whether you are a candidate for Invisalign. (Some cases are too severe for Invisalign and require traditional braces. If that’s your case, we will be happy to refer you to a trusted orthodontist to help you find the solution you need). Once you have been approved for Invisalign, the real work begins. Dr. Suarez will take X-rays and make dental molds to assist in making your custom alignment trays. From there, he will take pictures and use Invisalign preview software to show you exactly what your smile will look like at the end of your treatment.
Step #2 – Your aligners will take several weeks to produce. When they are finished, you will come back to pick them up and put in the first set in the series in your mouth. You’ll need to wear your dental aligners for at least 20 hours every day for them to be effective. You can remove them to eat and brush your teeth, so none of your normal routines will be interrupted. You will wear each aligner set for two weeks and then move to your next set. Every six weeks, you will come in and have your progress checked by Dr. Suarez. He will adjust your treatment if needed (add time to the aligner you are wearing, issue additional aligners, etc). Once you have completed wearing the last aligner in your series, you will be ready to move on to step #3.
Step #3 – This is the most exciting step in the whole process. This is the day that you show off your new smile! Eat with confidence, speak with confidence, and, most important, smile with confidence now that you have the straight smile you have always wanted.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Appearance – Invisalign orthodontic aligners are made out of clear plastic. This means they will not have any adverse effect on your smile. The same cannot be said for traditional braces. The metal brackets and wires draw attention to your smile and detract from your appearance. Trust your orthodontic needs to discreet Invisalign treatment today.
- Comfort – Metal is hard, and when you put it inside your mouth, you are going to be uncomfortable. The brackets and wires rub on your lips and cheeks, and your teeth ache from the constant force the braces use to realign your teeth. Invisalign aligners are smooth plastic and will not irritate your mouth at all.
- Convenience – You can take Invisalign out to eat and brush your teeth. This means there is no food to avoid and no special brushing routine. Just keep living your life the way you always have, and your smile will get better every day.
